Chabad Hebrew Academy (CHA) is an Infant - 8th grade Jewish Day School. Our early childhood center is looking for individuals who can help create innovative lesson plans and enhance the learning environment for our students. The ideal candidate for this position enjoys working with children, understands how they learn and is dedicated to creating a nurturing learning atmosphere for every student. School Hours: 7:30 am - 5: 30 pm
Ideal Candidate Demonstrates:
Knowledge of early childhood development and experience with children ages 0-5.
Strong organizational skills and teacher support capabilities.
Understanding of the social, emotional, academic and developmental needs of young children.
A joyful disposition and a love of working with children.
Ability to interact with parents and co-workers in a warm, empathetic, confident manner.
Knowledge or training in Montessori Education preferred.
Job Duties:
Develop lesson plans and learning goals with the head teacher
Maintain daily records, track student progress and intervene to help students progress as necessary
Foster a positive and collaborative learning environment where the unique needs of all students are met
Arrange educational activities outside the classroom and supervise the students during breaks and mealtime
Regularly communicate with family members and other staff, such as school psychologists and counselors, in order to meet the individual needs of each student
Ensure the classroom environment meets standards for safety and cleanliness
Job Description:
All teachers work cohesively together. The job duties range from organizing materials and cleaning the work space to facilitating the learning process for each child. All teachers are expected to support the Montessori teaching method and respect the religious values of our school. Specifically, they must help guide the child through self-directed activities, allowing the child to develop at his or her own pace. They are expected to foster, along with the lead teachers, a nurturing and stimulating non-competitive environment.
Requirements:
Must have 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units.
Infant units
Must pass background check and fingerprinting.
