Supporting Workforce Development Through Partnership with Theoria Technical College
Employers, directors, and community partners play a key role in shaping the early childhood education workforce. This resource page provides straightforward guidance on how to partner with Theoria Technical College, how to support enrolled employees, and how to understand Title 22 qualifications for staffing. Our goal is to keep the process simple, clear, and fully aligned with California requirements.
Job Board Posting and Employer Opportunities
Directors may submit job postings for aides, teachers, floaters, and administrative roles. Theoria reviews each posting and shares it with current students, alumni, and graduates. This direct connection helps centers fill positions quickly with candidates who are actively working toward Title 22 qualifications.
To submit a job post, directors provide
• job title
• description of duties
• qualifications
• schedule
• compensation
• hiring contact
Theoria publishes listings promptly so centers can reach motivated applicants.
Supervised Field Experience and Volunteer Placement Overview
Supervised field experience is a required instructional component for many of Theoria’s programs. When directors host a student, they become part of the student’s structured learning environment. Students complete instructional hours in licensed or approved early education settings and must apply course concepts directly in the classroom.
Directors or designated leads serve as site supervisors. Their responsibilities include guiding the student, monitoring progress, and completing required forms. Students track hours using official Theoria forms that must be signed in ink.
Hosting a student benefits both the learner and the center by providing additional classroom support and early access to developing talent.

Understanding the Student Lifecycle at Theoria
Directors often support employees who are concurrently enrolled in coursework. Understanding the student lifecycle helps directors know what to expect.
Enrollment and Orientation
Students complete orientation before beginning coursework so they understand expectations and responsibilities.
Coursework and Format
Theoria courses are delivered online with weekly modules. This format supports working adults and helps them stay organized.
Field Experience
Students complete instructional hours only after the course start date. Directors verify hours, observe performance, and sign forms.
Faculty Oversight
Instructors monitor progress, verify documentation, and award credit. Directors focus only on supervision within the workplace.
Completion
Once all assignments and hours are verified, students move to the next course or complete their program.
Understanding BPPE Approval and Accreditation
Theoria Technical College is fully approved by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education. BPPE approval is the state requirement that authorizes a college to operate legally in California and issue valid educational credentials. Community Care Licensing accepts Theoria coursework for Title 22 staffing because BPPE approval confirms compliance with state educational standards.
Accreditation is a separate process focused on institutional quality. Theoria is actively pursuing accreditation with the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges and the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training. Accreditation is not required for Title 22 staffing, and all coursework is fully valid today under BPPE approval.
Employer Responsibilities When Hosting Students
Directors who host students have a few important responsibilities.
• Provide a safe, licensed environment
• Assign a qualified site supervisor
• Ensure duties align with instructional learning
• Sign the Timesheet and Student Evaluation Form
• Communicate concerns if any arise
Directors do not grade assignments or manage academic evaluation. They supervise practical learning and verify hours.
Best Practices for Supporting Employees in Coursework
Directors can help employees succeed by:
• having a short check-in conversation at the start of each term
• confirming whether the course requires field experience
• offering opportunities to practice new skills
• reviewing expectations for documentation
• completing required forms on time
• encouraging professional communication and growth
These steps strengthen both the employee and the center.
