Data Talks: How We Use Student Feedback to Make Theoria Better

At Theoria Technical College, student feedback isn’t just a checkbox it’s a catalyst for change.


Every comment, every rating, every survey response you share helps us fine-tune your experience and shape the future of our programs. Whether it’s through course evaluations, satisfaction surveys, or learning assessments, your voice is part of the data we use to improve everything from curriculum design to student services.


In this post, we’re giving you a behind-the-scenes look at how your feedback drives real improvements across campus.

1. Course Evaluations: More Than Just a Grade for the Instructor

At the end of every course, students are invited to complete a Class Evaluation Form. This form asks about:

  • Instructor clarity and responsiveness

  • Engagement and participation

  • Assignment quality and workload

  • Use of resources and class structure


What we do with it:

  • Department leads review trends each quarter

  • Instructors receive feedback summaries to celebrate wins and improve instruction

  • Low satisfaction scores are followed up with 1:1 coaching or changes to curriculum design

2. Learning Outcomes Assessments: Tracking What You’re Really Learning

Beyond how students feel about a course, we also look at what students are actually mastering. This is where Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) and assignment data come in.


Each quarter, we collect assessment data on:

  • Major assignments (quizzes, papers, presentations, projects)

  • Which outcomes are being met or missed

  • Pass rates and performance benchmarks


What we do with it:

  • Use data to identify strong and weak areas in curriculum

  • Make decisions on whether to revise assignments or add more instructional support

  • Tie performance trends to institution-wide learning goals

3. Student Services & Satisfaction Surveys: Your Experience Matters

Throughout the year, we conduct a Student Satisfaction Survey that gathers feedback on:

  • Tutoring and advising

  • Career services

  • Communication and responsiveness

  • Overall student experience


What we do with it:

  • Identify areas of confusion or delay (e.g., registration issues, slow response times)

  • Improve resource visibility by adding support links to course shells

  • Launch new initiatives (e.g., expanded career coaching, more flexible advising times)
